Children's Support Worker - Hertfordshire
Due to ongoing success in rebuilding Young People’s lives, new opportunities have arisen within this organisation for Children’s Residential Support Workers in their new home in Hitchin.
You will be joining a company which has experience within management and Directors to support you along with great career progression opportunities as this organisation evolves. They have an excellent reputation both with clients and staff, with their staff benefiting from an extensive training package and support in attaining NVQs/QCFs.
The working hours are shifts which equate to a weekly average of 37.5 hours. Pay rates £8.71 per hour for non NVQ qualified and £10.25 per hour for level 3/diploma qualified. Sleep ins are paid at £40 each and there is plenty of free parking.
These positions will suit people who are compassionate, good listeners, can positively influence and aspire to helping young people reach their goals. You will also need be resilient to and be able to deal with challenging behaviour which is result of the damaging backgrounds of these children in care. In building a rapport with the young people, motivating them towards their independence and attending education, encouraging and taking part in activities with them such as cooking, arts, sports etc. you will help these children rebuild their lives and sense of place within society.
Ideally you will have an NVQ/QCF level 3 within a relevant field and have a driving licence. It is essential that candidates have previous experience of supporting children or young people who have complex needs including challenging behaviour. This can be paid work or voluntary.
£8.71 to £10.25 per hour
