Learning Disabilities Support Worker

Are you interested in working as a Residential Support Worker with children and young people who have a learning disabilities? Long day shifts and waking night shifts available supporting children with Asperger's.

This work will suit people who enjoy supporting children with extra needs, building a rapport with them and helping them develop personally, physically and emotionally.

The role involves dealing with challenging behaviour, helping and taking part in domestic, social and leisure activities, following care plans and liaising with other professionals.

With Asperger's there are often also complex health needs and challenging behaviours so it is essential that candidates have experience of working with clients who present with severe challenging behaviours.

After successful candidates have worked on a contract basis for around 3 months, the role will become permanent if both you and the hiring manager are happy.

Because of the age of the client group applicants are required to be a minimum of 21 years of age. These roles also require drivers who have full, manual driving licences.
