Waking Nights Support Worker
Waking night roles available based in south Northamptonshire, just north of Milton Keynes. These are contract to permanent positions paying £8.82 per hour.
The waking night shift is 9:45pm to 7:30am and the shift pattern will enable you to work between 3 and 5 nights per week.
You will be supporting children and young people with Asperger's so at least one years experience of working with clients with challenging behaviour is essential to be able to apply for these roles. This experience could be from working with clients with emotional behavioural difficulties, mental health, severe learning disabilities, brain injury or within a prison service.
You will be providing waking night support in a home environment where the clients also attend specialist education.
These are tough yet rewarding roles. With Asperger's there are also complex health needs and severe challenging behaviours. You will bring skills in care, empathy, patience, rapport building and the confidence to deal with challenging behaviour firmly and fairly.
After successful candidates have worked on a contract basis for around 3 months, the role will become permanent if both you and the hiring manager are happy.
Because of the age of the client group applicants are required to be a minimum of 21 years of age.
